Empowering Small Businesses: Shield Your Business with CyberSafe Hawaii

In today’s digital age, the threat of cyber attacks looms larger than ever for small businesses. They are increasingly becoming targets for cybercriminals due to their often limited resources and lack of robust security measures. However, there’s no need to face this threat alone.

CyberSafe Hawaii, a DBEDT program funded through an SBA grant, offers no-cost assistance, designed specifically to help businesses and their employees bolster their cyber defenses and safeguard against potential attacks. The mission is twofold: to assist businesses in becoming more cyber secure and to prevent cyber attacks from wreaking havoc on their operations.

Services are being offered atNO COST to a limited number of Hawaii small businesses (valued at over $5,000!)

So, how do they achieve this mission? The program takes a comprehensive approach to cyber security, focusing on three key areas:

Technical Assessment:

What you don’t know about your information system could lead to the loss of operations. Technical assessments will identify existing vulnerabilities that may be exploited by cyber criminals and provide recommended updates.

Cyber Awareness Training:

Available to all interested businesses, training will help identify the most common and best practices for maintaining good cyber hygiene that employers and employees should be aware of.

Penetration Testing:

To ensure vulnerabilities have been addressed or additional updates are required, this project will perform penetration testing to validate the security of your information technology network.

QUALIFYING BUSINESSES MUST:

  • Employ fifty (50) or fewer employees.
  • Have been in business less than five (5) years.
(Non-profits can apply as an exception to the 5 year eligibility requirement.)
  • Be generating revenue.
  • Operate in one of the following industries: retail, restaurants, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, agriculture, and finance.
  • If not at the time of submission, commit to enrolling as a client of a small business resource partner.

Since the launch of our program, at the time of publication, they’ve already enrolled 35 local small businesses, but availability is limited. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to fortify your cyber defenses and protect your business from the ever-present threat of cyber attacks.
