Take advantage of June’s mid-year momentum. As summer begins, capitalize on various funding opportunities for your business.

Private companies and nonprofits are offering a number of grants for small businesses.

Please keep in mind these are offered by private organizations, not the City and County of Honolulu, and have their own eligibility rules and ways to apply. Read grant applications carefully – some organizations charge a fee to apply.

eBay's 5th Annual Up & Running Grants Program

Application Deadline: June 7, 2024

A series of annual grants that reward 50 U.S. eBay sellers with tools and resources to grow their small businesses. In addition to a $10,000 reward, eBay is offering recipients a stipend worth $500 each, which sellers can use to equip themselves with essential office technology from eBay Refurbished and continued education support.

The Progressive Driving Small Business Forward Program

Application Deadline: June 14, 2024

The Progressive® Driving Small Business Forward fund program will provide $50,000 towards a commercial vehicle to 20 small businesses. Recipients will also get access to an exclusive 12-week virtual Boost Camp coaching program, designed to equip business owners with the tools & resources to help them achieve their growth objectives.

Boundless Futures Foundation 2024 EmpowHer Grant

Application Deadline: June 16, 2024

Eligible Applicants: Female entrepreneurs 22 years of age and older with businesses registered and operating in the United States. An applicant’s business must address a social issue directly or through its business model, and must not be more than 3 years old. To be awarded grant funding, applicants must self-report a credit score and agree to a third-party background check.

Verizon Small Business Digital Ready Grant

Application Deadline: June 28, 2024

In partnership with Next Street and LISC, Verizon is again providing $10K grants and online resources to give small businesses the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital economy. Here’s how this program works:

  • Must first register on the Verizon Small Business Digital Ready portal
  • Must complete at least two of the following in the Digital Ready program, in any combination: courses, live coaching or community events
  • Complete the above and submit your application by June 28, 2024

NGLCC Community Impact Grant Program

Application Deadline: June 25, 2024

NGLCC and the Grubhub Community Fund have come together once again to provide vital assistance for LGBTQ+-owned and allied restaurants, cafes, bars serving food, and other eating establishments. The NGLCC Community Impact Grant Program, supported by the Grubhub Community Fund, provides a financial lifeline to these businesses with grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.

2024 CO-100 America's Top 100 Small Businesses

Application Deadline: July 8, 2024

The CO—100 is an exclusive list of the 100 best and brightest small and mid-sized businesses in America. These are businesses to watch — driving innovation, growth, and ingenuity in their communities and around the world.

Ten finalists will receive $2,000 and America’s Top Small Business of the Year will be awarded $25,000.

Note: there is a $99 application fee.

Fast Break for Small Business Grant

Application Deadline: September 13, 2024

Small businesses that have been in operation for at least three months are eligible for a $10,000 small business grant and/or up to $500 in LegalZoom products and services. Entrepreneurs who have yet to launch their business are eligible for up to $500 in LegalZoom products and services.

Wish Local Empowerment Program

Open Dates: Ongoing

[Wish] recognize that as a large e-commerce company we have the responsibility to help uplift others. Black-owned small businesses have long faced hardship due to systemic racism. But small businesses like yours are integral to the makeup of America. So we are dedicating a $2M dollar fund to give roughly 4,000 Wish Local small business partners financial support. The selected recipients will receive amounts between $500 – $2000. This program will only be open to Black-owned stores, to help promote equality and diversity in American business.

Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund

To help restaurants recover in times of critical need, DoorDash has partnered with Hello Alice to create the Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund. The fund supports restaurants impacted by natural disasters like fires, floods, and hurricanes, and provides relief through $10,000 grants.

Binc Foundation Emergency Financial Assistance.

Binc helps bookstore owners, booksellers, and comic store employees and owners with unforeseen emergency financial needs. The Foundation assesses each request to determine how best to provide relief. If approved, grants are typically paid to third-party vendors.
